What Could Be Inside?

Archeologists have recently uncovered a lead coffin inside a stone coffin in the same area in which Richard III's remains were discovered, the site of the former Greyfriars Church. It took eight people to lift the lid off the stone coffin, which is more than two metres long. I can't help but wonder why the Greyfriars monks felt the need to go to such lengths to keep the contents of those coffins from being disinterred. I hope those archeologists are taking all due precautions.
