Ghost Signs

They are everywhere, really, when you start to look for them. Signs from the old days, hand painted, emerging from stone and brick, often so faded you can barely decipher the words, harbingers of times past using archaic language to sell long forgotten products. I like to think of them as materialising and dematerialising intermittently, heeding their own rhythm, their own purpose; here now, gone tomorrow, back again next week, as if they really are ghosts - ghosts that take the form of signs on walls.
